Yes, in case you haven't guessed yet, I am from Texas.
I live on a big ranch and we raise horses (Quarter Horses only) and cattle (Charlais, Corriente, Hereford, Brangus). The ranch is about 128,000 acres and we have approximately forty to fifty horses on here as well as about 1200 cattle although we are not fully stocked due to drought. I ride only one horse right now- a five year old Quarter Horse gelding named Primo who is so dark a grey he is black with white/grey hairs instead of the opposite way around. Most people mistake him for a blue roan, an easy mistake to make unless you know that a blue roan has solid head and feet and no grey in his tail, which Primo does. I love to work cattle (cutting) and rope and I'm constantly working on my horsemanship. it does upset me that I am not as good as the cowboys around me who are so amazing with horses, but then again I'm always being told I'm too hard on myself. I'm going to start riding a 5 year old sorrel called Mitch who isn't as good a horse as Primo, but what the heck. And Cracker who is a two year old sorrel and reall really typey looking; he's extremely sweet, laid back, and gentle although he will certainly work when asked to. I can't wait to start riding him!
I am also homeschooled and live about thirty five miles from the nearest town- not near as far as before we moved, it was an hour. I only get to town once a week, only once evry two weeks before I started piano lessons. So, I am socially deprived. Just warning ya... But then I have lots more time for my hrose and activities involving my horse. So it's all good and well! Or, it's all cheese and gravy. It's a saying me and my friend made up; don't ask.
That's pretty much it!
